One project that perfectly demonstrates the importance of thorough planning was the conversion of the historic Warbill-in-Tun pub in Warbleton into a beautiful family home.

Dating back in part to the 1500s, the building was full of character, but like many heritage properties, it also held a few surprises.

As work progressed, investigations revealed that part of the rear section of the building had been constructed without foundations. Additional asbestos was also discovered that hadn’t been identified during the initial surveys.

Rather than allowing these discoveries to derail the project, our team worked closely with the structural engineer, specialist contractors and the client to develop practical solutions. By communicating openly and adapting the programme where required, we were able to overcome these challenges while protecting both the building’s historic fabric and the client’s investment.
