How our CIOB membership benefits you

You’ll have heard us speak before about how our CIOB membership aligns with our values. Our values are not simply business buzzwords to us; rather, they’re the ethics we live and work by, making sure we are accountable for everything we do. So it’s crucial any partnership, professional network or person we collaborate or connect with matches these values, too.

CIOB is the abbreviation for the Chartered Institute of Building, a chartered building company professional body membership, so naturally this membership is incredibly important to us here at Hawes Construction Group. Yet as a client putting your project into our hands, it’s vital that you know why the CIOB membership is so beneficial, not only for the values it aligns us with but with the ways we work on our clients’ sites.

What does our CIOB membership prove to you?

As well as holding us accountable to live by our values – integrity and honesty, professional approach, ownership, pride in our work, and being the best we can be – our membership offers great benefits to everyone we work with. It demonstrates:

We’ve met high standards. It’s incredibly difficult to hold the accreditation of a chartered building company. (In fact, at least 50% of a company’s directors must be chartered members of the CIOB to gain such a status.) At Hawes Construction Group, we’ve not only met that but exceeded it – as every single member of our company directorship is a CIOB chartered member, proving we truly are 100%-committed to the highest standards.

You can trust us. Our CIOB membership confirms Hawes Construction Group is a safe pair of hands. We know CIOB vets members thoroughly, so wouldn’t risk their reputation accepting an organisation that didn’t deliver professionally and ethically. So rest assured, you have a qualified, reputable and dependable team on your side.

Our commitment to the latest knowledge and skills. You should, quite rightly, expect any build company you work with to be at the forefront of both health and safety developments and innovative ideas. As online CPDs are included in our CIOB membership, we have ongoing access to the latest construction industry updates for best practice and great ideas – both of which we bring your project. We also have the chance to access a huge range of ebooks on construction sector topics and areas of interest through the CIOB.

We have a strong network of reputable contractors. No one can, or should, work alone – and at Hawes Construction Group we sometimes require specific skills or sector specialists to deliver client projects to perfection (for example, we worked with traditional ironmongery experts for our recent award-nominated historic pub renovation). Through the CIOB, we have access to those specialists who also share our membership, so you know we’re bringing in only the best for your build.

We’re influencing the future of construction. As CIOB members, we’re encouraged to help manage or lead the institute as trustees or committee members. If you’re familiar with us, and know our MD, Sarra, you’ll understand how important it is for us to champion an encouraging future for our industry and its people. Our CIOB membership gives us an even greater platform to be part of positive change.

As always, our work here at Hawes Construction Group puts our clients first – and our CIOB membership proves our commitment to offering you only the very best service and skills.
