The Brief

• To build a new single-storey Community Hub and Scout Centre with mezzanine floor at Barn Cottage Recreation Ground in Haywards Heath
• The works are to be carried out in Two Phases

Our Solution

• Works to the new Community Hub are complete
• The area had to be cleared ready for works to commence.
• Brickwork is currently at 3^rd lift and steelwork is complete
• Cavity insulation has been installed
• The roof is complete
• The mezzanine floor is complete
• Insulation has been installed
• Ductwork is in
• M&E first fix complete
• Block paving has been laid between the two buildings
• Porch is completed
• Plastering is complete
• Insulation and underfloor heating has been installed
• Kitchen has been installed Internal doors have been fitted
• All rooms have now been finished and the project has been handed over.

The Result

• This project completed in December 2025 and handed over to the client in January 2026.
• It will provide a much-needed accessible space for various activities, offering enhanced youth services, support for families and older people, and a venue for other community groups to deliver their services.
• An official opening ceremony was held in March 2026 attended by Astronaut Major Tim Peake
