From projects to people, here’s what’s lined up for Hawes in 2024

Happy New Year! Here’s to 2024 and everything it has in store, which, for our team here at Hawes Construction Group, is already looking promising!

Of course, there’ll be new opportunities that crop up for us and our clients as the year progresses, including some upcoming tenders and project pitches already in the diary. Yet for now, our schedule is already packed with optimism and some of the following highlights:

Championing young people

As our clients, contacts and colleagues know, there’s nothing more important to our MD Sarra than supporting others to be the best they can be. So Sarra’s delighted that her diary’s already including chances to connect with young people in the construction industry and show them what they can achieve with the right work ethic and opportunities.

For Sarra, a huge part of this support comes via her time in schools and other education facilities, sharing with the students – and especially the girls – what pathways there are for ambitious people in construction. Keep an eye out on LinkedIn to see where Sarra’s speaking next!

Tackling the problem of unsafe school buildings

It’s not just the people in education who are benefitting from the Hawes Construction Group treatment this year! If you follow what we’re up to, you’ll have seen how we started taking on the heavily publicised problem with RAAC in school buildings. RAAC has a lifespan of around 30 years, meaning many education facilities found their concrete was now deemed unsafe.

In a natural link to Sarra’s work advocating for opportunities for young people, we wanted to do everything we could to get as many of these schools and facilities repaired and operating safely – and doing it quickly, to minimise education disruption. It’s work that kept us busy in late 2023, and is continuing well into 2024.

Embracing the needs and successes of our team

Hawes Construction Group is built on family values, and that filters through to every single member of our team. Whether it’s supporting them to learn new skills, providing chances for them to engage with new projects, or making it clear how important their work is, every member of Team Hawes is championed to be their best.

That includes feeling their best, too. You may have seen the work Sarra did to support mental health and wellbeing in the construction industry and tackle the sector’s troubling high male suicide rates. We’ve listed some helpful resources here

2024 is already off to a great start – and we can help it look the same for you. We’d love to hear about your project and plans for the coming year, so give us a call or send us an email – we’re here to help.
