Capturing the essence of architecture: our commissioned prints
The moments when we step back and show our clients their completed properties are some of our proudest. And those moments feel even more meaningful when we commemorate them by gifting our clients a bespoke, hand-sketched or digitally built print of their property, brought to life by local print artist, Andy Tuohy of Andy Tuohy Design.
Why Andy’s work resonates with us
Andy’s spent 15 years bringing together modern, bold British illustrations with timeless, vintage designs to create stunning detailed drawings that tell the story of a property and place.
Andy’s values match those of ours here at Hawes Construction Group, staying true to the heritage of a building and its place while embracing the modern touches of today. It’s all about bringing the heart of a property in line with our clients’ design preferences and practical needs, and we love how Andy captures that ethos in his artwork.
The pieces Andy creates
See some of the work we’ve commissioned from Andy, including pieces for the Warbill-in-Tun, Towner Gallery and Fives Café at Lancing College, here. You can also pop by our offices and see Andy’s work displayed on our walls. We have a copy of each commission to display with pride and celebrate Andy’s talent.
The artworks we commission are either requested by our clients or gifted by us at the end of particularly collaborative or long-term projects. We don’t commission them as s
tandard for every job; however, please do ask us if you’d like one, and we’ll be more than happy to instruct Andy on your behalf. His work adds character to the inside of your building, commemorates key projects at your head office, or makes a beautiful ‘thank you’ gift for project teams.
How Andy works

Andy’s prints brighten your walls, whether to capture a special memory of a place with meaning in your home or to mark the evolution of your building.
With totally unique designs, Andy adds quirky extras to ensure the prints are truly personal. Some of these are, naturally, based on extensive research and inspiration; others are incredible coincidences that show off Andy’s natural flair.
For example, for the Warbill-in-Tun print, Andy added the Sussex flag: by chance, the clients fly a Sussex flag, so they loved the unique touch this brought. And when the team at Newhaven Fort spotted the soldier Andy had included in the shadows in the doorway they were amazed, telling us a ghost of a soldier really does appear on the site at times!
What’s next for Andy and Hawes Construction Group?
With everything created and refined by Andy, and never any AI-generation in sight, Andy’s a true talent and lovely person. We’re proud to work alongside him and champion the work of other local businesspeople.
